End Poverty 2030

January 31, 2018

WellFound was represented today at an important meeting in the Houses of Parliament in London.

A Christian organisation called End Poverty 2030 was launching a new initiative based around the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations.

This is a list of 17 goals to end extreme poverty, fight inequality and protect the planet, all by 2030.

The vision of End Poverty 2030 is to encourage the Christian church to play its part in achieving these goals. To quote from their website: “We want to see a united movement with a new wave of energy from across denominations. Up to now, at least at a grass-roots level, we think such a response may have been lacking. But we remain convinced that the goals represent a key aspect of Christian discipleship that ought to be a part of every 21st century Christian’s journey. We also believe that Christian churches across the globe are uniquely placed to help deliver these goals.”

WellFound is delighted to be the chosen charity and case study to illustrate development goal 6: “To ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”.

We were at the House of Parliament today to support the launch event and look forward to seeing this initiative develop over the coming months and years.
