WellFound Receives National Energy Globe Award 2016

February 5, 2016

We are thrilled to announce that WellFound has received the prestigious National Energy Globe Award 2016 for the best sustainable project for our work in providing clean water and sanitation in Guinea-Bissau, one of the poorest countries in the world. Energy Globe invites outstanding sustainable best practice projects in various categories in an annual competition, with over 800 entries worldwide. Chair and Founding Trustee Howard Measham was in Tehran on 19th January to accept the award. The TV gala covering the Energy Globe ceremony in the famous Milad Tower reached 1 billion people worldwide and was broadcast by 600 TV channels. It was a celebration with many highlights where the world’s best sustainable projects were presented and awarded. Currently all Iranian newspapers and many large billboards announce the environmental event of the year.

“As a Chair and Founder of WellFound, I am very proud to receive this award personally in Tehran because it is through your donations, our team in our Greenford office and our team in Guinea Bissau that this is possible” –  Howard Measham
